How Often Do You Need Commercial Window Cleaning?

Every person who either owns a company, or operates in a position of power at one, knows one thing to be true. Even if it sounds shallow, appearances are incredibly important in business.

If you’re in a customer or client-facing industry, then you need to ensure your premises – whether you’re running a café, restaurant, bar or anything else – look as attractive and inviting as possible to new customers.

Even if your business doesn’t get a lot of visitors – if you work in an office, say – the importance of appearances should not be overlooked. It’s still important to keep your premises looking clean, to ensure you maintain a professional working environment in which your employees can thrive.

One large – but critically overlooked – part of your building’s appearance is its windows. Dirty windows, in a place like a restaurant, can be terrible for business, because they suggest a lack of hygiene. Even in offices, grimy windows can have a detrimental effect on productivity, as they make the whole place a gloomier, less inspiring place in which to work.

We would guess (or hope, at least!) that this has crossed your mind before, and that you’ve already looked into professional commercial window cleaning. It can certainly be tricky to find the balance between having your windows cleaned often enough to keep them looking respectable, but not so often that it costs you too much money.

So, how often do you need commercial window cleaning?

The first factor to consider, as we’ve mentioned above, is what kind of industry you’re working in. If you’re running a restaurant, café, bar or any similar operation, you need to be getting commercial window cleaning pretty regularly. Think at least once per quarter, and preferably more often than that, if you can afford it. If you’re running an office, you can get away with less frequent cleanings, but we’d still recommend ordering them at least twice per year.

Another factor is the season. In a lovely summer, like the one we’re currently enjoying here in Bloomfield Hills, Birmingham, and elsewhere in Michigan, your businesses will be able to go longer without a clean. In the tougher months, particularly if there’s a lot of snow or rain, they’ll need to be cleaned more regularly. So, one good way to save money is to generally cut down a little on cleanings in the summer, and ramp them up again in the late autumn and winter.

Finally, you need to factor in your business’s location. If it’s right on the banks of one of Michigan’s large lakes, it’ll take more of a beating from the elements on average throughout the year, and thus will need more regular cleanings. If it’s a little further inland – in somewhere like Birmingham or Bloomfield Hills, for example – you’ll be able to get away with less frequent cleans.

So, those are the three basic factors to consider when trying to work out how often your business needs commercial window cleaning.
