What Type of House Washing is Best For You?

By: | Tags: | Comments: 0

Regular window cleaning – whether it’s every month, quarter, or on any other time scale – is something most homeowners will take for granted. That’s obviously great, particularly for professionals who are in the business, as we are here at J&M Window Cleaning! For some reason, however, those same homeowners can go years without getting the actual surfaces of their properties cleaned.

It’s a strange and intriguing phenomenon. The most likely explanation is that – when you see a building every single day, as you do with your home – it’s very hard to notice any gradual changes. Dirt in particular builds up very slowly, and – unless you’re really looking for it – that accumulation will probably escape your notice.

Even if you don’t actually notice it though, we can promise you that – without regular professional house washing – it is happening. Unwanted substances like dirt, mold, and algae will almost always find their way onto the surfaces of your precious property, regardless of whether you’re based in Northville, Commerce, Bloomfield Hills, or Birmingham. If left unchecked for an extended period of time, they can end up not only looking unsightly for both yourself and visitors, but also causing significant long-term damage too.

It’s not all doom and gloom though, as this doesn’t actually need to be a hard problem to solve. There are plenty of house washing companies out there, whether you’re based in Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Commerce, or Northville. All of them will be more than happy to provide this service for you, with J&M Window Cleaning being right at the front of the line!

Once you’ve settled on a business you like the look of, however, one more key question remains – what type of house washing do you want? After all, there are actually two main approaches you can take here. The first is pressure washing, or ‘power washing’. This is the more famous of the two, and basically involves firing an extremely powerful jet of water at your surfaces, and blasting the dirt away.

The other, lesser-known option is soft washing. As the name suggests, this uses a much more delicate technique. House washing companies will use far less pressure as they apply the water here, instead mostly relying on a blend of special, incredibly useful chemicals to get the main part of the job done.

Soft washing might not look as cool as power washing… or even sound as cool! In reality though, it can be just as useful, simply being better-suited to tackling certain surfaces and substances. Examples of the former include siding, shingles, or delicate wood-based areas. As for the latter, the likes of algae, moss, mildew, and various fungi will all suffer at the hands of soft washing.

Deciding to get some house washing for your property in Bloomfield Hills, Commerce, Northville, or Birmingham is a crucial first step. After that though, you still have an important choice to make – do you opt for traditional power washing, more nuanced soft washing… or even a combination of both?

At J&M Window Cleaning, we’d be more than happy to help you make that decision. We’ll not only advise you on this matter, but carry out any and all house washing you require too. To get in touch with us now, simply call (248) 605-2243, or email CleanWindows@JMWindowCleaning.com.
