Commercial window cleaning is just one of those things. You know not only that you should get it, but that you need to get it. The problem is… you have no idea how often to get it! 

Here at J&M Window Cleaning, we’ve been in the commercial window cleaning game for nearly two decades now. There are a few questions that have consistently cropped up from the people we’ve talked to across Clarkston, Commerce, West Bloomfield and White Lake, but this is easily one of the most common! Naturally, caring business owners want their premises to look good. For many, though, this must be balanced against factors like a strict budget, or the relative inconvenience of having commercial window cleaners at your place of work (although this is something we try to minimize at J&M!).

Type of Business

All businesses need commercial window cleaning at some point or another. Not only does it rejuvenate the appearance of your premises, but it protects them against long-term damage too. 

Appearances matter more in some industries than others, though. If you’re operating a warehouse, for example, which simply stores goods waiting for delivery, you can get away with your windows being a little grubbier. 

In other industries, however, this is not the case. Offices which frequently welcome important clients will need to ensure they always project a professional appearance. The likes of restaurants and cafes must appear hygienic and welcoming to keep getting customers through their doors. Thus, these types of businesses should definitely look into getting more regular commercial window cleaning than ones where appearances are less of a priority. 

Location

Simply put, the harsher a climate is, the more window cleaning you’ll need. In areas with more rain, wind, snow, sleet, and so on, your windows will take a pretty frequent beating, and will start looking dirty a whole lot quicker. Those in kinder climates can afford to leave longer gaps between their commercial window cleaning requests. 

Being based in Michigan, and with most of our clients being in areas like West Bloomfield, Clarkston, White Lake and Commerce… it’s fair to say we fall into the first category! We get some pretty testing weather for a good chunk of the year, so more frequent commercial window cleaning sessions are necessary. 

Budget

A general answer to the question ‘How often should you get commercial window cleaning?’ is… as often as you possibly can! If you made an appointment every month, for example, your windows would almost always be sparkling. 

In the case of many businesses, though, this simply isn’t realistic. Instead, you need to balance the many benefits of professional window cleaning against its costs. That means a more helpful answer to the aforementioned question is probably… as often as you can afford it! If you can find room in your budget, though, we’d recommend making appointments at least quarterly.
